Presented is a Hanna TA766 Jimmie Foxx professional model bat dating from 1930-1933. The bat, which measures 36 inches in length and weighs 35 ounces, features solid game use including cracks on the handle and reverse barrel. “JA Foxx” is stamped in block letters on the barrel of the bat, above which is stamped “Steel,” and below which is stamped “Steel Temper”. This particular lathe bat was sent back to Louisville Slugger because it was repurposed for use in the minor leagues; as a result, another name was once etched into the side writing on the bat, but it has since been removed. As noted by PSA/DNA in its accompanying LOA, “it is our opinion that the bat is authentic and was manufactured during the referenced labeling period. Its use by Foxx cannot be determined.” Features “Patented 1770403 July 15, 1930” etched into the knob by Hanna, confirming the time period of the collectible. An excellent addition to the personal inventory of any vintage baseball enthusiast. Full photo LOA from John Taube and Vince Malta of PSA/DNA.
