Heinie Groh had a 16-year career as a highly regarded player with the Reds, Giants and Pirates in which he hit .292 and was one of the best third basemen of the dead ball era. The longtime infielder is the subject of this 1925 Heinie Groh New York Giants player contract. The document is in VG-EX condition with three original folds and represents an agreement for the New York National League baseball club to pay a salary of $12,500 for the aforementioned season. The inside page of the booklet-style contract is signed by club President Charles A. Stoneham (d.1936; “10”) and club secretary James J. Tierney (“9”) and dated January 9, 1925.
