Joe McCarthy was welcomed into the Yankee fold on Friday, May 8, 1931 with a welcome dinner that featured a star-studded cast. This incredible program from that dinner presents in approximate VG condition with moderate creasing and some small pinholes that do not in any way affect the (23) bold pennings from some of the most iconic pinstripe stars of the era. The front of the green publication features a vintage “Play Ball” logo with an umpire and an eager hitter; the inside menu features a solid offering of food from the hosting Midland Club. Also comes with a 6x2” “Welcome Joe McCarthy" ribbon. Signatures include: Bennett (batboy; “9”, d.1935, toughest 1927 Yankee signature), W. Brown (iconic sportswriter; “7-8”), Bush (d.1972; “9”, T206 player), Byrd (“9-10”), B. Chapman (“9”), Dickey (“7”), Faber (“8-9”), Fletcher (d.1950; “9”, T206 player), Gehrig (d.1941; “9-10”), Gomez (“7-8”), Jorgens (“8-9”), B. Kelly (“9”), Lazzeri (d.1946; “9”), McCarthy (“9”), McEvoy (d.1953; “9”), Painter (famous Yankee trainer; d. 1968, “9-10”), Reese (“7-8”), Ruth (d.1948; “8-9”), Sewell (“9-10”), Sherid (“9”), D.
