Despite an MLB team record of 1,067 runs scored (almost 7 per game) and Gehrig's A.L. record of 184 RBIs, the Bronx Bombers could not overtake the A's for the pennant. It would be one more year still before the Yanks made their triumphant return to the World Series. This scraped, scuffed, lightly shellacked, darkly toned OAL (Harridge) ball is notated "1932 From Dad" but matches up with the 1931 roster. It features 19 signatures averaging "3-7" w/Ruth ("5-6"), Gehrig ("7"), Combs, Dickey, Ruffing, Pennock, Lazzeri, Sewell, Chapman, Lary, Rhodes, Byrd, Pipgras, Jorgens, Wells, Hoag, Weaver and two others. A previous owner's name is also notated. Full LOA from JSA.
