Detailed description on our website.

Though this desirable package of autographs may play hard to get, the tremendous upside sure is sweet. Devote your attention to this incredible grouping of (11) tough signed GPCs, which pre-date the age of rampant memorabilia shows and paid autograph lines. Postmarked between 1941-1952, these vintage cards bear the signatures of men who made their marks on the game of baseball during the first half of the 20th Century. The fact that all featured signers departed to the field of dreams anywhere from thirty-eight to sixty-five years ago places these autographed GPCs well into the challenging zone. Signatures average (“8-9”) quality on nicely preserved cards with just one exception as noted in the following list of included signers: Joe Judge (d.1963, personalized);
Dolph Luque (d.1957), Joe McCarthy (d.1978) with “Yankees 1945” inscription; John McInnis (d.1960) with “Stuffy” inscription; “Irish” Meusel (d.1963, “6-7”); Jake Pitler (d.1968), Burt Shotton (d.1962, signed as B.E. Shotton, minor ink migration); “Snuffy” Stirnweiss (d.1958, signed as George Stirnweiss); Fred Toney (d.1953); Eddie Waitkus (d.1972); Walter Woods (d.1951) with “41 New Castle Ave. Portsmouth, New Hampshire” inscription. Auction LOA from JSA.
