Detailed description on our website.

Offbeat non-sport collectors will want to block out some time to pursue this extra tough 1967 Topps issue. Offered are a Block Heads retail display box and a near set of (10/12) masks. Fashioned in heavy stock, the colorful 14x9 Block Heads masks are designed to unfold and fit over the head of Topps youthful fan base. For the printed box price of a mere fifteen cents, the purchaser would instantly be ready to partake in Halloween festivities, a costume party or as is stated on the box you could “Get all 12 and scare your friends!” The included box has been flattened and rates as (GD-VG) with moderate creasing and separations at the corners. Despite these conditions, the box’s display appeal is exciting with bold colors and glossy surfaces. The masks are wonderfully designed by treasured artists Wally Wood, Basil Wolverton and Norm Saunders to be a cross between humorous and horrific. The results are visually captivating, ranking as one of Topps most unique series ever. The list of included masks are: Ape, Bleech, Giant Fly, Green Monster, Hippie. Martian, Moon Creature, Pirate, Skull and Witch Doctor. These (10) masks appear to be unused with minor traces of wear registering as average (EX-MT to NM-MT). A convenient art image checklist panel adorns the front edge of the box, revealing the two absent masks are Mad Scientist and Three-Eyed Monster. It appears that the Topps staff expressed their opinion of the 1960s counter-culture movement by including the Hippie example as part of this fright fest collection. Enjoy this rare and delightful offbeat series.
