Description

Muhammad Ali was perhaps the most influential athlete of the twentieth century when you consider his impact beyond the ring. An eloquent and intelligent man who spoke on a wide variety of controversial topics, Ali became beloved in the eyes of the public after his iconic moment at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta (lighting the torch for Team USA). However, his recent passing has also drawn attention to the complex relationship that Ali had with a public that was uncomfortable with his non-boxing related quotations, particularly those about foreign policy or the conditions in “White America”. "The Louisville Lip" holds court on the offered Muhammad Ali single-signed 16x20 photograph. The iconic pugilist penned the vibrant color photograph in gold metallic paint pen, with the lengthy autograph grading ("9"). This ready-to-display piece features the famous photograph with Ali standing over a fallen Sonny Liston, clearly ready to let his adversary know who was “The Greatest”. Full photo LOA from JSA.
