Detailed description on our website.
Round the bases with a quartet of Yankees greats. Presented is a 1961 pin featuring the heart of one of the greatest baseball teams of all-time. Providing the power to the unparalleled 1961 “Bronx Bombers” squad, this foursome of fan favorites bashed their way into history on the wings of the "M&M Boys" season long chase of "Babe" Ruth's revered home run record. Featured are Mickey Mantle at twelve o’clock, Bill Skowron at three, “Yogi” Berra at six and Roger Maris at the nine position. Set between these four diamond studs is a baseball emblem with N.Y. initials and the Yankees team name. A fantastic souvenir of the 1961 World Champs, this extremely tough 3-1/2” diameter pin remains highly appealing despite a 1-1/2 x 1/4” section of surface loss/discoloration on the right edge. This condition affects only part of Skowron’s last name lettering and the edge of his cap, otherwise this pin shows admirable EX-MT+ details with deference to an inconsequential ding on the edge which is not apparent from a straight on view. An elegant matte finish, crystal clear photos and a clean, bright surface more than trump the described edge wear. These commendable attributes combine with recognized rarity to propel this important pinback to the gotta have it zone.
