“Wahoo” Sam Crawford, from the tiny Nebraska town that lent him its nickname, combined speed and power in a unique way during the dead-ball era, holding the career record for triples as well as the single-season record for inside-the-park homers. Crawford (d.1968) is the subject of this Sam Crawford Signed Baseball HOF Centennial FDC with a (“9-10”) potency penning that includes his full name and nickname “Wahoo Sam” written beneath his penning. The mid-grade envelope presents well given their age with light creasing and moderate residue on the reverse of the collectible. According to 1939baseball.com, this cover is of the “Postmaster Cooperstown” variation. A “3 cent” baseball centennial stamp appropriately decorates the top right corner, full photo LOA from JSA.
