Detailed description on our website.
Plagued by polio, The Great Depression and WWII, president Franklin D. Roosevelt knew how to let off some steam as evidenced by this trio of photos by legendary Washington Times/National Geographic photographer Joe Roberts. FDR is all smiles in an 8x10 “first pitch” scene (EX) taken in the early 1930s. The other (2) photos are 11x14 prints (both NM) signed by photographer Roberts (both “9-10”) with another first pitch scene with Roosevelt flanked to his left by Bucky Harris, Clark Griffith and Ban Johnson; and a rare shot of the four-term president standing with his legs in view and wife Eleanor by his side. Auction LOA from JSA.
