In compiling autographs of Baseball Hall of Famers, the penning of Woonsocket, Rhode Island native Nap Lajoie (d.1959) is arguably one the of the most fleeting. “The Frenchman” is the subject of this Larry Lajoie Signed Centennial FDC features an (“8”) potency black fountain pen autograph. The mid-grade envelope presents well given its age with light creasing and moderate residue on the reverse of the collectible and is dated “6-12-39” on the bottom left of the envelope. According to 1939baseball.com, this cover is of the “Postmaster Cooperstown” variation. “3 cent” baseball centennial stamp appropriately decorates the top right corner, full photo LOA from JSA.
