Led down the first of two fruitless paths paved of empty promises regarding a future managerial position, Babe Ruth departed from the Bronx after the 1934 season. Continuing like a well-oiled machine without the flamboyant slugger, the 1935 Yankees posted their third straight runner-up finish, holding the top spot as late as July 23 before yielding to a torrid Detroit surge. The offered 10x8 1935 New York Yankees Spring Training Team Photograph was autographed by (21) of those 1935 Bronx Bombers. The black steel-tip fountain pennings average (“7-8”) potency signed horizontally around the rows of depicted players. The photo itself has two small tears and some pinholes which do not in any way affect the signatures (except for the W at the beginning of Walter “Jumbo” Brown’s name). The players on this baseball club are absolutely visible amidst the clear background in this image. Signatures Include: Broaca, Brown (d.1966), Chapman, Crosetti, DeShong, Duke, Fletcher (d.1950), Gehrig (d.1941), Gomez, Heffner, Kies, Kimble, LaFlamme, Lazzeri (d.1946), McCarthy, Melton, Painter (d.1968; trainer), Roth, Sewell, Tamulis, one unidentified.
