Of all the MLB All-Star Game pennants listed in Mike Egner's book Vintage Pennant Price Guide II (Baseball & Football Edition), this rarity is far and away the most expensive, estimated at $1,000-1,200. What's more, the offered example must be one of the nicest survivors around. Measuring 29" long, it exhibits bright, clean EX-MT condition with 3 intact tassels and a fabric label on the reverse. Back in 2006, this very pennant brought over $1,200, and we have not seen another hit the auction block ever since. One main reason for the pennant's extreme scarcity is that the '52 Mid-Summer Classic was called after 5 innings due to rain.
