Detailed description on our website.
Beginning with their inaugural season in 1946, the Cleveland Browns went on a dominant rampage, devastating both the AAFC and NFL. The Browns swept the newly founded AAFC for all four years of its existence, winning the league championship each year during the period 1946-1949. Following the AAFC’s fold they joined the NFL, reaching the championship their first six years in the league and capturing three titles. This brought their incredible streak to ten straight championship appearances with seven title wins.
From the height of this glorious dynasty comes this vibrant multi-signed program with (35) front cover autographs, including that of Browns head coach Paul Brown, who guided the team through its decade of dominance. Issued at Philadelphia’s recently rechristened Connie Mack Stadium for a 12/13/53 matchup vs. the Eagles, this captivating program is covered with period-signed autographs including then NFL commissioner Bert Bell, (23) Browns, (10) Eagles and (1) undetermined. Signature quality averages (“8-9”) on a brightly colored program that presents minimally as (EX) with a tight spine and a clean, glossy surface that is free on any major flaws such as creases, tears, holes or extraneous writing. Due to the nature of the program’s dazzling design, some autographs overlap, as their authors were forced to vie for suitable areas to apply their signatures. Additionally, a few of the autographs in the upper region cross some of the darker background sections, requiring close inspection to be viewed in entirety. Nevertheless all autographs are solid and potent.
