The 1931 season was a tough one for infielder Jackie Hayes, as the lifetime .265 hitter managed only a .222 average. However, he more than made up for it in the field with only 4 errors. The offered 1931 Jackie Hayes Game Used Washington Senators road jersey is graded “A8.5” by MEARS! An incredible keepsake, the Spalding grey flannel button-down garment features moderate game wear and staining on front and underarms. The front is blank and the reverse features a black “22” (Hayes’s number) that nicely complements a brown “W” sewn on both of the shoulders. The neck is home to a Spalding labeled and “HAYES” stitched onto the neck in red. According to the LOA “1931 was Hayes’ final season with the Senators, also the first season the Senators used jersey numbers”. Full photo Letter of Opinion by MEARS.
