Detailed description on our website.
Those who prefer their football collectibles served up rare are in for a real gourmet treat with this savory run of All-America Football Conference football programs. Though the AAFC was short-lived, it was highly competitive with three of its teams, the Browns, Colts and 49ers forcing their way into the NFL for the 1950 season, while a fourth team the L.A. Dons merged with the Rams. During the league’s 1946-1949 four year period of existence, the Cleveland Browns proved themselves the cream of the crop, winning the AAFC championship every year.
Recall the Brown’s incredible “league sweep” with these super-tough programs with:
1946 vs. New York Yankees (VG-EX) with deference to page leaf 35/36 being absent and replaced with photocopies which are inserted loose without being attached, otherwise this handsome example is clean and bright with vivid cover colors and supple interior pages, spine shows moderate wear, photos include both Browns and Yankees teams and individual images of HOFers Otto Graham, Dante Lavelli, Lou Groza, Marion Motley and Bill Willis
1947 vs. New York Yankees (GD-VG) complete and intact with decent spine, photos include coaches Paul Brown and Ray Flaherty, both teams and the same group of Cleveland HOFers listed above
1948 vs. Buffalo Bills (VG) complete and intact with solid spine and bright colors, photos include the usual suspects, teams and Ara Parseghian, centerfold is brilliant
1949 vs. San Francisco 49ers (VG) complete with vivid colors and bright pages, centerfold is detached but present, spine is decent with small split at top, colorful centerfold features Bing Crosby, Arthur Godfrey and Perry Como in a Chesterfield cigarettes ad, also features full page coach Paul Brown photo and Browns team photo inside back cover
