In the shadow of Riverfront Stadium, Great American Ball Park, opened on March 31, 2003 with an unfortunate 10-1 Reds loss to the Pirates. This "Rebirth in Cincinnati" Bill Purdom Lithograph Lot of (138) captures that inaugural game. The 33x18 print shows the full Reds team on the field for the first pitch: Jason LaRue at catcher, Sean Casey at first, Aaron Boone at second, Barry Larkin at short and Brandon Larson at third. In the outfield, Adam Dunn is in left, Ken Griffey Jr. is in center, Austin Kearns in right. The ballpark in all its glory is shown in a nice sunny shadow over the stadium in the distance.
