Description

"Lefty" O'Doul was a feared hitter who had a .349 lifetime batting average over an eleven year career. O'Doul is the subject of this 12x16 Pittsburgh Press Lefty O'Doul Original Artwork piece. The piece features a pencil sketch of O'Doul as well as a cartoon depiction of the slugger. The individual content is as follows: "He defeated the Buccos single handed in a double header on the last Flatbush trip with 3 Homers". The team content is: "The cast-off outfield with O'Doul, Taylor and Wilson give the Dodgers that possible pennant winning punch". The included outfield trio likely dates the cartoon to 1932 or 1933.
