From 8/15/69 to 8/18/69 thirty-three various music acts played to a crowd of nearly a half-million fans known as the “Woodstock Nation” at a farm in upstate New York. This celebration of music and peace was officially titled the “Woodstock Music and Art Fair”, as shown on the tickets in the offered framed display.
The incredible roster of big-name bands that performed at this happening event includes CSNY, Santana, The Band, The Great Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Sly and the Family Stone, The Who and of course Jimi Hendrix with his new band Gypsy Sun & Rainbows who took the stage last at 9am on the Monday the 18th due to a rain delay. What had the potential for disaster turned out to be a peace-fest considered the greatest concert in history and the defining moment of the ‘60s counter-culture movement.
Music fans tune into this representative display which includes examples of all (3) different day tickets. Dated Friday 8/15/69, Saturday 8/16/69 and Sunday 8/17/69 respectively, these groovy souvenirs have been adhered to a backer board which is framed and matted to overall dimensions of 13x16. All (3) are full tickets presenting in excellent condition with bold red print on clean surfaces with different colored backgrounds. This handsome ensemble appears to have been professionally mounted and remains in serviceable condition, ready for prominent feature.
