Description

Baltimore Colts faithful keep the beat with this offbeat collectible. Pounded regularly and rhythmically at “the largest outdoor insane asylum” on 33rd Street in Baltimore, this snare drum was used by a member of the Colts marching band to help whip fans into a frenzy at Memoraiol Stadium Sunday home games in the 1960s. Showing abundant signs of authentic use, this professional quality instrument remains in serviceable working condition with harness plate attached. Manufactured by respected drum maker “Ludwig” of Chicago, this double size marching snare is easily identified in the many existing photos from the period of game use, despite moderate fading/toning of the blue and white Colts color stripes covering the upright surface area. Comes with vintage storage case. Get in step with this altogether pleasing beat keeper.
