Considered the most beautiful of American coins, this $20 gold piece is graced with the designs of sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Lady Liberty stands proud on the obverse of this 1910 specimen, while the reverse is all glory with a soaring eagle depiction. As is the norm with high denomination coins of this antique period, this date was struck in a relatively low quantity of 482,000 pieces and all surviving examples are in high demand. This gleaming double eagle does show a fair number of contact marks, however details remain distinct and this coin stands an excellent chance of being rated at the lower end of the Mint State range or at the very least it should achieve an AU (about uncirculated) designation.
