Description

With Nazi Germany as the imposing host and Jesse Owens running for more than just the prestige of international competition, the triumphs of the Berlin Olympics are chronicled with the offered pair of 1936 Olympic Publications. Includes: 1) 1936 Olympics Photo Album: 168 page volume written entirely in German with bold photographs of the games, including specimens that show Jesse Owens and other world-class athletes as well as photographs of the streets surrounding the stadium (filled with Nazi banners, with some depicting Hitler). The book is like a photograph journey from the torch arriving at the games to the closing ceremonies. The original dust jacket is subject to heavy wear, but the interior pages and images average remarkable NM condition and 2) 1936 Olympic Games 10x14 program: 52 page English volume with content related to different competitions such as gymnastics, track and field, rowing and many other sports. For Olympic enthusiasts, this would represent an excellent addition to any collection.
