A former number one overall pick and future Hall of Famer, Alex Ovechkin has 525 goals at the age of 30, and if he keeps his scoring pace until the age of 35, he will have over 700 goals and be listed amongst the all-time greats in terms of filling the net with pucks. “The Great 8” is the subject of this 2008-09 Alex Ovechkin Game Used hockey stick, coming from a season in which he led the NHL with 56 goals. The CCM Vector Catapult 10.0 model is an incredible specimen, neatly taped on the blade, around which are multiple puck and ice impact marks. In terms of Ovechkin game used sticks, this specimen is top-of-the-line with heavy wear about the blade but a relatively clean handle and shaft. Usually, game used examples from the legendary Russian are only lightly used as a result of the heavy and potent one-timer that has become the trademark shot of Ovechkin and breaks many of the sticks that he uses. The handle is covered with blue tape and red ace bandage to enhance grip, which runs all the way up to the knob, just above the “OVI 8” stampings. LOA from the Washington Capitals attesting to game use.
