Before they became Indians teammates, Satchel Paige and Bob Feller were barnstorming adversaries on an influential cross-country tour that drew huge, diverse crowds at a time when baseball's color barrier was still firmly intact. Vintage signatures from the Satchel Paige All-Stars and the Bob Feller All-Stars are rare indeed, and this offering boasts the bonus of Paige's inscription referencing his powerhouse Kansas City Monarchs—not to mention the fact that it could display as a Satch "single." The shellacked, medium-toned Rawlings "Official League" ball features the period signatures of Paige ("7"), Feller (sweet-spot "3") and Lemon ("6"), as well as a later Feller example ("7") dated 8/30/83. Full LOA from JSA. Also included is a Bob Feller's All-Stars/Satchel Paige's All-Stars program (8-1/2 x 11", FR) with Feller's "8" signature on the front cover. Auction LOA from JSA.
